Control Valve Body: Installation
- Check the control valve body for foreign matter adhesion.
- Install the control valve body.
- Set the control valve body to the transmission body.
- Temporarily tighten the bolt (silver).
- Attach the bolt (black).
Tightening torque:
9 N.m (0.9 kgf-m, 6.6 ft-lb)
- Tighten the bolt (silver).
Tightening torque:
9 N.m (0.9 kgf-m, 6.6 ft-lb)
- Install a new O-ring to the transmission harness.NOTE:
Apply CVTF to the O-rings.
- Temporarily attach the transmission harness to the valve cover.
- Install a new gasket to the valve cover.
- Apply liquid gasket to the area shown in the figure.NOTE:
- Before applying liquid gasket, degrease the old liquid gasket seal surface of the transmission body and valve cover gasket.
- Install within 5 min. after applying liquid gasket.
Liquid gasket:
THREE BOND 1216J or equivalent
- Connect the connector to the control valve body.
- Temporarily attach the valve cover.
- Tighten the bolts in the numerical order as shown in the figure.CAUTION:
Be careful not to catch the ST (SHEET SPECIAL TOOL).
Tightening torque:
8 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.9 ft-lb)
- Tighten the bolt which holds the transmission harness.
Tightening torque:
7 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 5.2 ft-lb)
- Remove the ST (SHEET SPECIAL TOOL).
- Install the throttle body. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>THROTTLE BODY>INSTALLATION .
- Install the clip which holds the transmission harness.
- Install the air breather hose stay to the valve cover.
Tightening torque:
7 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 5.2 ft-lb)
- Connect the transmission harness connector to the engine wiring harness.
- Install the TCM. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580 CROSSTREK)>TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM)>INSTALLATION .
- Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Check the CVTF level. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580 CROSSTREK)>CVTF>INSPECTION .
- Perform the [Clear AT learning value] and [AT learning mode] using Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580 CROSSTREK)>AT LEARNING .

When to See a Mechanic
