Diagnosis Procedure

2024 Nissan-Datsun Frontier SL, RWDSECTION Diagnosis Procedure
  1. PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE 1 
    1. Turn ignition switch ON.
    2. Erase DTC.
    3. Perform DTC confirmation procedure. Refer to DTC Confirmation Procedure .

    Is the DTC P34C4 displayed again?

    >>

    Replace electric IVT control module. Refer to Removal and Installation .

    >>

    GO TO 2.

  2. PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE 2 

    Start the engine and let it idle.

    Is the DTC P34C4 displayed again?

    >>

    GO TO 5.

    >>

    GO TO 3.

  3. PERFORM COMPONENT FUNCTION CHECK 

    Perform "INT V/T ASSIGN ANGLE" in "ACTIVE TEST" mode with CONSULT.

    Is electric intake valve timing (IVT) control actuator activate?

    >>

    GO TO 4.

    Refer to Diagnosis Procedure .

    >>

    Refer to Diagnosis Procedure .

  4. CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT 

    Check intermittent incident. Refer to Intermittent Incident .

    Is the inspection result normal?

    >>

    Repair or replace error-detected parts.

    >>

    INSPECTION END

  5. CHECK INTAKE VALVE TIMING POSITION BY MEANS OF ACTUAL VALUE 1 
    1. Start the engine.
    2. Let engine idle for 1 minutes.
    3. On CONSULT screen, select "ENGINE" >> "DATA MONITOR".
    4. Check indication value of the "INT/V TIM (B1)" and "INT/V TIM (B2)"

    Is the value between "-5° and 5° CA" displayed on CONSULT screen?

    >>

    Replace electric IVT control module. Refer to Removal and Installation .

    >>

    Refer to Diagnosis Procedure .

    >>

    Refer to Diagnosis Procedure .
