DTC 1301: GPS Antenna Error

2009 Honda CR-V EX, 2.4 RE3SECTION DTC 1301: GPS Antenna Error

NOTE:
  • Check the vehicle battery condition first (see BATTERY TEST ).
  • This code sets when there is poor connectors or loose terminals at the GPS antenna connector or an open in GPS antenna wire.
  • Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the general troubleshooting information (see GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION -('10 MODEL) ).
  • Make sure the vehicle is parked outside, away from buildings.
  • Aftermarket metallic window tint or electronic devices located near the audio-navigation unit or GPS antenna can potentially interfere with the operation of the navigation system.
  1. Clear the hard error code (see HOW TO CLEAR ERROR HISTORY ).
  2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).
  3. Check for the hard error code (see HOW DO I FIND THE LOCAL ADDRESS OF A BUSINESS THAT IS PART OF A NATIONAL CHAIN (FOR EXAMPLE, STARBUCKS)? ).

    Is DTC 1301 indicated? 

    YES  -Go to step 4.

    NO  -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. If the vehicle repeatedly comes back with the DTC, replace the audio-navigation unit (see AUDIO-NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - ('10 MODEL) ).

  4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  5. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the audio-navigation unit connector H (2P).
  6. Clear the hard error code (see HOW TO CLEAR ERROR HISTORY ).
  7. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).
  8. Check for the hard error code (see HOW DO I FIND THE LOCAL ADDRESS OF A BUSINESS THAT IS PART OF A NATIONAL CHAIN (FOR EXAMPLE, STARBUCKS)? ).

    Is DTC 1301 indicated? 

    YES  -Go to step 9.

    NO  -Intermittent failure, the system-is OK at this time.

  9. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  10. Substitute a known-good GPS antenna (see REARVIEW CAMERA REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - ('10 MODEL) ).
  11. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  12. Clear the hard error code (see HOW TO CLEAR ERROR HISTORY ).
  13. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).
  14. Check for the hard error code (see HOW DO I FIND THE LOCAL ADDRESS OF A BUSINESS THAT IS PART OF A NATIONAL CHAIN (FOR EXAMPLE, STARBUCKS)? ).

    Is DTC 1301 indicated? 

    YES  -Replace the audio-navigation unit (see AUDIO-NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - ('10 MODEL) ).

    NO  -Replace the original GPS antenna (see REARVIEW CAMERA REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - ('10 MODEL) ).
