- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC) located under steering column. If scan tool powers up, go to next step. If scan tool does not power up, go to SCAN TOOL DOES NOT POWER UP under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in BODY CONTROL MODULES - CORVETTE article.
- Turn ignition on. Attempt to establish communication with the Left Door Control Module (LDCM), Seat Control Module (SCM), Body Control Module (BCM) and Powertrain Control Module (PCM). If scan tool communicates with all systems, go to next step. If scan tool does not communicate with all systems, go to SCAN TOOL DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH CLASS 2 DEVICE under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in BODY CONTROL MODULES - CORVETTE article.
- Using scan tool, SCM module DTC function. Select the LDCM DTC function. Select BCM DTC function. Select PCM DTC function. If scan tool displays any DTCs, go to next step. If scan tool does not display and DTCs, diagnose by symptom. See SYMPTOM INDEX table under SYSTEM TESTS.
- If scan tool displays any DTCs which begin with "U", go to SCAN TOOL DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH CLASS 2 DEVICE under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in BODY CONTROL MODULES - CORVETTE article. If scan tool does not display any DTCs that begin with "U", go to next step.
- If DTC B0605 is not set, go to next step. If DTC B0605 is set, go to BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in BODY CONTROL MODULES - CORVETTE article.
- If DTC P0562 or P0563 are set, go to appropriate powertrain On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) system check in appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If DTC P0562 or P0563 are not set, perform appropriate test in accordance with DTC retrieved. See POWER SEAT DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) table.
