Test 1: CTD Alarm Mode Inoperative

- Open driver's window. Unlock doors using power door lock switch or remote keyless entry transmitter. Remove key from ignition. Open driver's door. If SECURITY indicator light is flashing, go to next step. If SECURITY indicator light is not flashing, repair courtesy light circuit. See ILLUMINATION/INTERIOR LIGHTS article.
- Lock vehicle using power door lock switches or remote keyless entry transmitter. If SECURITY indicator light changes from flashing to on, go to next step. If SECURITY indicator light does not change from flashing to on, repair power door lock circuit. See POWER DOOR LOCKS - PARK AVENUE article.
- Close all doors. All doors must be closed for CTD system to arm. If SECURITY indicator light turns off in about 30 seconds, go to next step. If SECURITY indicator light does not turn off, repair courtesy light circuit. See ILLUMINATION/INTERIOR LIGHTS article.
- Unlock driver's door with manual knob and open door. If all alarm mode functions activate (lights and horn), go to next step. If only lights activate, see TEST 3: HORN INOPERATIVE IN CTD ALARM MODEΒ . If only horn activates, see TEST 4: LIGHTS INOPERATIVE IN CTD ALARM MODEΒ .
- Disarm CTD system using key in driver door lock. If all alarm mode functions stop, check for intermittent or poor connections. If alarm mode functions do not stop, see TEST 2: CTD DOES NOT DISARM WITH KEY LOCKΒ .
