2000 Buick Park Avenue Base, 3.8 1SECTION Test 2: CTD Does Not Disarm With Key Lock
  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select Driver Door Module (DDM), data display, and inputs. Observe door lock cylinder switch parameter for each door. If scan tool displays IDLE for both lock switches, go to next step. If scan tool does not display IDLE for any lock switch, go to step Β 3 .
  2. Activate outside door locks. Using scan tool, observe door lock parameters. If both switch parameters change, check for intermittent problem. If both switch parameters do not change, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect inoperative door switch. Turn ignition on, engine off. Using scan tool, observe door lock cylinder switch parameter. If scan tool displays IDLE, go to step Β 6 . If scan tool does not display IDLE, go to next step.
  4. Check switch wiring between lock switch and door module for short to ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMSΒ  . Repair as necessary. If no problem is found, go to next step.
  5. Check door module connector for poor connections. Repair as necessary. If connections are okay, replace faulty door module. See DOOR MODULEΒ  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system.
  6. Check door lock switch connector for poor connections. Repair as necessary. If connections are okay, replace faulty door lock switch. See DOOR LOCK SWITCHΒ  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
