Test 4: Lights Inoperative In CTD Alarm Mode

2000 Buick Park Avenue Base, 3.8 1SECTION Test 4: Lights Inoperative In CTD Alarm Mode
  1. Check exterior lights. If lights are okay, go to next step. If lights do not operate properly, diagnose and repair exterior light circuit. See EXTERIOR LIGHTS article.
  2. Check for open in Black/White wire between RFA module terminal B4 and instrument panel fuse block connector C4, terminal B6. See Figure . If circuit is open, go to next step. If circuit is okay, go to step Β 4 .
  3. Repair Black/White wire between RFA module terminal B4 and instrument panel fuse block connector C4, terminal B6. Recheck system operation.
  4. Check for open in Black/White wire between Lighting Control module (LCM) connector C2, terminal B12 and instrument panel fuse block connector C1, terminal B7. If circuit is open, repair as necessary and retest. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
  5. Check for open in instrument panel fuse block circuit between connector C1, terminal B7 and connector C4, terminal B6. If fuse block is open, go to next step. If fuse block is okay, go to step Β 7 .
  6. Replace instrument panel fuse block. Recheck system operation.
  7. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between LCM harness connector C2, terminal B12 (Black/White wire) and ground. If headlights turn on, go to next step. If headlights do not turn on, go to stepΒ 9 .
  8. Replace RFA module. See REMOTE FUNCTION ACTUATOR MODULEΒ  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  9. Replace Lighting Control module (LCM). Recheck system operation.
