Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

Condition

Line pressure solenoid SLS regulates the line pressure in the transmission. The solenoid is controlled by a power stage in the transmission control module (TCM) output. The transmission control module (TCM) uses the power stage to control the current to the solenoid. A low amperage results in a high line pressure. A high amperage (approximately 1 A) gives a low line pressure. The amperage is primarily affected by the throttle position. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-113 is stored if the control module registers that there is an open-circuit in the circuit for solenoid SLS. Solenoid SLS cannot then control the line pressure.

Substitute value
- The transmission control module (TCM) Emergency mode III program is initiated.

Possible source
- Open-circuit in the control signal cable or the signal cable.
- Defective solenoid.
- Open-circuit in the power ground.
- Contact resistance in terminals.
- Defective control module.

Fault symptom[s]
- General orange warning lamp lit.
- No lock-up function.
- Harsh gear shifting.

Hint: Harsh gear shifting can be caused by:
- No torque limiting request to the engine control module (ECM) when shifting.
- No line pressure solenoid SLS control. This results in constant maximum line pressure.

When to See a Mechanic

Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:

  • β€’ You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.
  • β€’ Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
  • β€’ The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
  • β€’ You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
  • β€’ You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
