Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
Shift solenoids S1, S2, S3, S4 and S5 operate in tandem to control gear-shifting. Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) TCM-0003, TCM-0009, TCM-0103, TCM-0109 or TCM-010C are stored if the transmission control module (TCM) registers that there is a short-circuit to ground in circuits S1, S2, S3, S4 or S5 when the solenoid should be activated.
Substitute value
- The transmission control module (TCM) "Emergency mode I" program has been initiated.
Possible source
- Short-circuit to ground in the signal cable.
- Defective solenoid.
- Internal fault in the control module.
Fault symptom[s]
- General orange warning lamp lit.
- No lock-up function.
- Harsh gear shifting.
- No shifting.
