Condition
This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is never stored on its own. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-9170 is also stored if the engine control module (ECM) registers that diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) ECM-9150 and ECM-9160 (fault in the throttle position (TP) sensor in the throttle unit, potentiometer 1 and 2) are stored.
Substitute value
The supply to the throttle unit damper motor is shut off. The throttle will set itself to the return position.
Possible source
Faulty signal:
- Fault in the throttle position (TP) sensor circuit for the throttle unit.

- Driving/Poor performance/lacks power
- Idling/Uneven idle
