Diagnostic trouble code information
Condition
- The steering wheel angle sensor has two circuits each with 4 LEDs and 4 receptors which read off the position of their individual code wheel. One circuit measures the steering wheel angle and the other measures steering wheel revolutions. If the steering wheel angle sensor (SAS) control unit registers that steering wheel angle signal A is missing, diagnostic trouble code SAS-0045 will be stored.

- Stabilising function disconnected.
- Anti-spin function blocked.
Possible source
- Open circuit in the signal wires.
- Internal fault in control unit.
