Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-6110 is stored if the engine control module (ECM) registers a fault in the signal cable from the engine cooling fan (FC) control module.

Note! The electric cooling fan may have a post-running time of up to approx. 6 minutes after the engine has been shut off. The time for the electric cooling fan's post-running depends on the engine's temperature, temperature in the engine compartment as well as the pressure level in the AC system.

Signal too high:
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable
- Defective engine fan control module.

Signal too low:
- Short-circuit to ground in the signal cable
- Short-circuit to ground in the power supply cable
- Defective engine fan control module.

Signal missing:
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connector
- Open-circuit in the signal cable
- Defective engine fan control module.

Fault symptom[s]
- Electric cooling fan does not operate
- The engine cooling fan (FC) runs continuously even when the ignition is switched off.
