2004 Volvo C70 2.4 63SECTION Convertible system signal specification

General 

The convertible system only functions when the ignition is on.

Control module terminals A1- A30 and C1- C16 are positioned on adapter 9813194 .

Control module terminals B1- B8 and D1- D14 are positioned on adapter 9511496 .

NOTE:

It is important that the breakout box is connected and that the ground terminals have been checked before readings are taken. See Checking the ground terminals .

All values specified below are between the terminals in column 1 and a ground point in the car or in adapter wiring 9511496 terminal #5 (connection of an additional breakout box is required in the latter case).

Control module terminals A1- A30 correspond to terminals #1- #30 on the breakout box.

A2 Signal, side window down. Activates the side windows. Active low signal.
A3 Signal, trunk lid inhibitor Prevents the trunk lid from opening when the convertible top is operating.
A4 Signal, warning buzzer Warning signal for various reasons.
A5 Signal, rear windshield heater Deactivates the rear windshield heater when the convertible top is opened.
A6 Not connected -
A7 15-supply (Voltage signal from the ignition switch) Activates the convertible control unit.
A8 Signal from the switch for the rear windshield heater Activation check for the rear windshield heater.
A9 Signal, convertible top up Control switch. Active low signal.
A10 Signal, convertible top down Control switch. Active low signal.
A11 Signal from the parking brake Activated when the brake is applied. Active low signal.
A12 Signal, trunk lid open Warning lamp in the combined instrument panel.
A13 Signal, micro-switch for the front lock Activated when the convertible top is in the front position. Active low signal.
A14 Not connected -
A15 Signal ground, micro-switch for the front lock -
A16 Signal, Dashboard LED LED for the convertible top.
A17 Signal, air conditioning system (A/C) Deactivation of the air conditioning (A/C) system when the convertible top is opened (applies to ECC).

A19 Signal, side windows up Activation of the side windows.

A22 Speed signal The speed must be <4km/h when operating the convertible top.
A23 Diagnostic lead, C-link Diagnostic II communication.

C10 Signal, micro-switch for the front latch arm, front position Activated when the front latch arm is in the front position = has locked the front of the convertible top into position Active low signal.
C11 Signal, micro-switch for the front latch arm, rear position Activated when the front latch arm is in its rear position. Active low signal.
C12 Signal ground, micro-switch for the cover plate lock, rear latch arms -
