The following operating condition must be met during this road test:

Observe the safety precautions that apply to road tests. Refer to Safety precautions .

Let vehicle cool off with the ignition switched off until the following condition is met:

  • Perform a road test anew.

The following operating conditions must be met during this road test:

  • Accelerate vehicle uniformly, not at Wide Open Throttle (WOT).
  • Drive for 10 minutes in the highest gear or in the highest driving mode on a level driving surface at a constant speed in the range of 65 to 80 km/h at an engine speed of 2000 to 2500 RPM.
NOTE:
  • After 10 minutes, downshift until an engine speed of 2800 to 3500 RPM has been reached.
  • Drive in deceleration mode at a speed up to approx. 1800 RPM.
  • Park vehicle and let engine run at idle for 3 minutes.
  • Accelerator pedal must not be operated during this time.
  • Perform a road test anew.

The following operating conditions must be met during this road test:

  • Accelerate vehicle uniformly, not at Wide Open Throttle (WOT).
  • Drive for 10 minutes in the highest gear or in the highest driving mode on a level driving surface at a constant speed in the range of 65 to 80 km/h at an engine speed of 2000 to 2500 RPM.
  • Park vehicle and let engine run at idle for 3 minutes.
  • Accelerator pedal must not be operated during this time.

If a 1 is displayed instead of a 0 in the 8-digit number block:

  • Perform a road test anew.

The following operating conditions must be met during this road test:

  • Drive for 10 minutes in the highest gear or in the highest driving mode on a level driving surface at a constant speed in the range of 65 to 80 km/h at an engine speed of 2000 to 2500 RPM.
  • Park vehicle and let run at idle for 3 minutes.
  • Accelerator pedal must not be operated during this time.

If in 8-digit number block:

  • Display position 5: Secondary Air Injection (AIR) system

and/or

  • Display position 6: EVAP canister system

a 1 instead of 0 is displayed:
