2002 Volkswagen EuroVan BaseSECTION Lost Key Procedure

If the 7-digit PIN is not known or is no longer applicable (outdated request), it must be requested from the "Warranty Information Network" (WIN) code retrieval system. WIN Administration requires the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), the Immobilizer ID number and Dealer (number) information in order to generate the 7-digit PIN.

  1. Obtain replacement ignition key.
  2. Adapt all ignition keys. See IGNITION KEYS, ADAPTATION (FUNCTION 10)  .
  3. Determine method by which data is exchanged between the Engine Control Module (ECM) and Immobilizer control module. Adapt ECM using appropriate procedure depending on data exchange protocol. See Data Exchange Via CAN Bus, Code Control Module  or Data Exchange Via "W" Circuit, Code Control Module  .
  4. Use Read Measuring Value Block (function 08) and observe data in display group 001, display field 1. See READ MEASURING VALUE BLOCK (FUNCTION 08)  .
