Instrument Cluster: Installation

2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Installation

  1. Place cluster straight into cluster opening in instrument panel (Figure). Be careful not to scratch the cluster face.
  2. Install the four retaining screws to the cluster (Figure).
  3. Install the two electrical connectors to the bottom of the cluster accessed from underneath instrument panel (Figure).
  4. Raise the column and install four nuts.
  5. Install the cluster bezel (Refer to CLUSTER BEZEL ).
    WARNING: DO NOT CONNECT THE BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE. (Refer to AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS ) FIRST.
  6. Verify vehicle and system operation.
