- REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER REAR PANEL SUB-ASSY (SEE REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSY REAR (SEE REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSY UPPER (SEE REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (SEE REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (SEE REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSY LH (SEE REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSY RH (SEE REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSY NO.1 (SEE REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL RH (SEE REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL LH (SEE REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE CONSOLE BOX FRONT (SEE REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE CONSOLE BOX MOUNTING BRACKET NO.1 (SEE REPLACEMENT )
- DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSY
- Disconnect the transmission control cable assy from the transmission floor shift assy.
- REMOVE TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSY
- Disconnect the shift lock control computer connector.
- Shift lever with multi-mode automatic transmission:
- Disconnect the transmission control switch connector.
- Remove the 4 bolts and transmission floor shift assy.
- REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSY
- Remove the shift lever knob sub-assy.
- REMOVE SHIFT LOCK RELEASE BUTTON COVER
- Using a small screwdriver, remove the shift lock release button cover from the position indicator housing assy.
- REMOVE POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING ASSY
- Using a screwdriver, remove the position indicator housing from the shift lever assy.
- REMOVE INDICATOR LAMP WIRE SUB-ASSY
- Remove the connector from the transmission floor shift assy.
- Using a screwdriver, release the stopper of the connector.
- Remove the position indicator lamp bulb from the indicator lamp wire.
- Using a small screwdriver, disengage the locking lug of terminals (4) and (8), and pull the terminals out from the rear.
- INSTALL INDICATOR LAMP WIRE SUB-ASSY
- Connect the 2 terminals of the indicator lamp wire harness to the transmission control switch connector.
- Install the position indicator lamp bulb to the indicator lamp wire.
- Connect the connector to the transmission floor shift assy.
- INSTALL POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING ASSY
- Install the position indicator housing to the transmission floor shift assy.
HINT:
Securely engage the claws.
- Install the position indicator housing to the transmission floor shift assy.
- INSTALL SHIFT LOCK RELEASE BUTTON COVER
- Install the shift lock release button cover to the position indicator housing assy.
- INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSY
- Install the shift lever knob sub-assy.
- INSTALL TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSY
- Install the transmission floor shift assy with the 4 nuts.
Torque: 12 N.m (122 kgf.cm, 9 ft.lbf)
HINT:
Tighten them in order: A, B, C and D.
NOTE: Be careful not to put the wires of the indicator lamp of the shift lock system between the floor shift assy and the floor while installing the transmission floor shift assy.
- Install the transmission floor shift assy with the 4 nuts.
