How To Proceed With Troubleshooting
Troubleshoot in accordance with the procedure.
- VEHICLE BROUGHT IN
- SYMPTOM CHECK
- INSPECT COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF LARGE-SCALE BODY MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (BEAN)
- Check that there is no abnormality in the communication system by inspecting the communication function of the body multiplex communication system.
- (ECU communication stop, communication line abnormal) With code outputs, proceed to "A".
- (ECU communication stop, communication line abnormal) Without code outputs, proceed to "B".
B: GO TO INFORMATION OF EACH SYSTEM
A: Go to next step.
- Check that there is no abnormality in the communication system by inspecting the communication function of the body multiplex communication system.
- DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHECK (See PRE-CHECK
)
- Check a DTC and note it if a code is output.
- Delete the DTC.
- Check if the DTC will be output once again, when the problem symptom is simulated based on the noted code.
- When no code is output (symptom check and simulation is possible), proceed to "A".
- When no code is output (symptom check and simulation is impossible), proceed to "B".
- When a code is output, proceed to "C".
B: GO TO PROBLEM SIMULATION (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )
C: Go to step 7
A: Go to next step.
- PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

- Without applicable symptoms, proceed to "A".
- With applicable symptoms, proceed to "B".
B: Go to step 7
A: Go to next step.
- PERFORM TROUBLESHOOTING IN FOLLOWING METHOD, DEPENDING ON MALFUNCTION SYMPTOM
- Pre-check (See PRE-CHECK )
- Terminals of ECU (See TERMINALS OF ECU )
- ADJUSTMENT, REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT

When to See a Mechanic
