- INSPECT ABS WARNING LIGHT
WHEN USING HAND-HELD TESTER
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3 and start the engine.
- Select the item "ABS WARN LIGHT" in the ACTIVE TEST and operate the ABS warning light on the hand-held tester.SPECIFIED CONDITION
Item Vehicle Condition / Test Details Diagnostic Note ABS WARN LIGHT Turns ABS warning light ON / OFF Observe combination meter - Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the ABS warning light can be shown on the combination meter by the hand-held tester.
OK:
Turn the ABS warning light ON or OFF in accordance with the hand-held tester.
WHEN NOT USING HAND-HELD TESTER
- Turn the ignition switch off and disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
- Using service wire, connect terminals WA and GND of the skid control ECU harness side connector.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Check that the ABS warning light.
OK:
SPECIFIED CONDITIONWA - GND Condition Illumination Condition Connecting OFF Disconnecting ON - NG : Go to step 2
- OK : REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (SEE REPLACEMENT )
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU-COMBINATION METER)
- Disconnect the skid control ECU connector and combination meter connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in SPECIFIED CONDITION .
Standard:

- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- OK: Go to Next Step.
- CHECK COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (SEE
PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
)
- Check if the indicators (shift position, airbag, etc.) other than ABS warning indicator operate normally.
Result:
