Brake Actuator Assembly (W/O VSC): Replacement

2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Replacement

  1. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID 
    NOTE: Wash brake fluid off immediately if it adheres to any painted surface. 
  2. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL 
  3. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET 
    1. Release the latch of the brake actuator connector to disconnect the connector.
    2. Using SST, disconnect the 6 brake tubes from the brake actuator

    3. Use tags or make a memo to identify the reconnection points.

    4. Remove the 3 bolts and brake actuator with bracket.
      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the brake tubes and wire harness.
