2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Inspection Procedure

  1. Check:  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS  .
    1. NG  : Repair or replace parking brake switch circuit.
    2. OK  : Go to next step.
  2. Check  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS  . 
    1. NG  : Repair or replace brake fluid level warning switch circuit.
    2. OK  : Go to next step.
  3. Is DTC Output? 

    Check DTC, see Step 1)  e or  f.

    1. YES  : Repair circuit indicated by the output code.
    2. NO  : Go to next step.

  4. Check BRAKE Warning Light  .

    PROBLEM SYMPTOMS .

    1. NG  : Repair or replace combination meter.
    2. NOTE: When replacing the ECU, perform the zero point calibration (See step  6 under PRE-CHECK).
    3. OK  : Check and replace skid control ECU.
