NOTE:
If the ignition switch is turned from ON the ACC or LOCK during test mode, DTC will be erased.
- Check the sensor signal. Turn the ignition OFF. Using special tool (09843-18040) start the engine. Check that the ABS warning light blinks. If it DOES NOT blink, inspect ABS warning light circuit and Ts terminal circuit. See ABS WARNING LIGHTΒ or Ts TERMINALΒ
under SYSTEM TESTS.NOTE: There is a case that the sensor check is not completed if the vehicle has its front wheels spun or its steering wheel turned during this check.
- Keep vehicle in stationary condition and the brake pedal in free condition for 1 second or longer. Keeping the vehicle in stationary condition, depress the brake pedal with 22 Ft. Lbs. (98 N.m) or more for 1 second or longer. Drive vehicle straight forward, faster than 28 mph for several seconds, check that the ABS warning light goes off.
- Stop the vehicle. Connect tool to Tc and CG terminals of DLC3. Read the number of blinks of the ABS warning light. For DTC definitions, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONSΒ . If every sensor is normal, a normal code is output. (A cycle of 0.25 second ON and 0.25 second OFF is repeated). If 2 or more malfunctions are indicated at the same time, the lowest numbered code will be displayed first.
- After doing the check, turn ignition OFF and disconnect tool from terminals.
