Step 2: Driving Test
Test the vehicle at 40 km/h (25 mile/h) for more than a minute including left and right turns and check if any trouble symptom (such as ESP® warning light and/or ABS warning light) exists.
If the malfunction DTC is confirmed at ignition switch ON, proceed to STEP 3 .
If the malfunction DTC is not confirmed at ignition switch ON, proceed to STEP 6 .

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:
- • You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.
- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
- • You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
- • You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
