Removal Procedure
2013 Suzuki SX4 Crossover, Automatic CVT TransSECTION Removal Procedure

- Set the parking brake.
- Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to SIR DISABLING AND ENABLING .
- Remove the battery tray. Refer to BATTERY TRAY REPLACEMENT .
- Using the J 36346, disconnect the shift control cable (1) from the transaxle range switch lever (4).
- Depress the shift control cable retainer clip tabs (2) and remove the shift control cable from the shift control cable bracket (3).
- Remove the shift control lever knob. Refer to TRANSMISSION CONTROL LEVER KNOB REPLACEMENTΒ .
- Remove the console. Refer to CONSOLE REPLACEMENT .
- Ensure that the shift control range select lever is in the park (P) position.
- Using the J 36346, disconnect the shift control cable from the shift control range select lever pin.
- Depress the shift control cable retainer clip tabs and remove the cable from the shift control.
- Remove the shift control cable grommet from the cowl.
- Note the shift control cable routing and remove the shift control cable from the vehicle.
