  1. Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to SIR DISABLING AND ENABLING .
  2. Remove the shift control lever knob. Refer to TRANSMISSION CONTROL LEVER KNOB REPLACEMENT .
  3. Remove the console. Refer to CONSOLE REPLACEMENT .
  4. Remove the shift control. Refer to TRANSMISSION CONTROL REPLACEMENT .

CAUTION: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .

Tightening torque 
25 N.m (18 lb ft)
