Transmission Control Device: Removal

2022 Subaru Impreza Base, 4D Sedan, Automatic CVT TransSECTION Removal

  1. Remove the parking pawl. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580 CROSSTREK)>PARKING PAWL>REMOVALΒ .
  2. Remove the parking support.

  3. Remove the inhibitor switch. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580 CROSSTREK)>INHIBITOR SWITCH>REMOVALΒ .
  4. Remove the oil pan and oil strainer. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580 CROSSTREK)>OIL PAN>REMOVALΒ .
  5. Remove the detent spring.

  6. Remove the spring pin.
    NOTE:

    Be careful not to drop the spring pin in the transmission.Β

  7. Remove the shifter arm shaft.

  8. Remove the manual valve rod (A) and remove the manual plate (B) and parking rod (C) as a unit.

  9. Remove the parking rod from the manual plate.
  10. Remove the manual valve.

  11. Remove the oil seal using a flat tip screwdriver wrapped with protection tape.
