Valve Rocker Assembly: Installation
2005 Subaru Outback i, StandardSECTION Installation
- Install the valve rocker assembly.
- Temporarily tighten the bolts (a) through (d) equally in order as shown in Fig 1
.NOTE: Do not allow the valve rocker assembly to damage knock pins.
- Tighten the bolts (e) through (h) to specified torque.
- Tighten the bolts (a) through (d) to specified torque.
Tightening torque:Β
25 N.m (2.5 kgf-m, 18.1 ft-lb)Β
- Temporarily tighten the bolts (a) through (d) equally in order as shown in Fig 1
.
- Adjust the valve clearance. < Ref. to , ADJUSTMENTΒ , Valve Clearance. >
- Install the rocker cover and rocker cover gasket, and then connect PCV hose.NOTE: Use a new rocker cover gasket.
- Install the cam sprocket. < Ref. to , INSTALLATIONΒ , Cam Sprocket. >
- Install the timing belt. < Ref. to , INSTALLATIONΒ , Timing Belt. >
- Install the timing belt cover.
