Front Speed Sensor: Installation
2008 Scion xD AutomaticSECTION Installation
- INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR
- Install the speed sensor onto the steering knuckle with the bolt.
Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf)
NOTE:- Check that the speed sensor tip and installation portion are free of foreign matter.
- Install the speed sensor without turning it from its original installation angle.
- Install the No. 1 sensor clamp onto the shock absorber with the bolt.
Torque: 29 N*m (300 kgf*cm, 22 ft.*lbf)
- Install the No. 2 sensor clamp onto the body with the bolt.
Torque: 6.0 N*m (61 kgf*cm, 53 in.*lbf)
- Engage the clamps D, C and B onto the body.
- Connect the speed sensor connector.
- Engage the clamp A onto the body.
- Install the speed sensor onto the steering knuckle with the bolt.
- INSTALL FRONT FENDER LINER (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL SIDE MUDGUARD (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL ROCKER PANEL MOLDING COVER (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
Torque: 103 N*m (1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf)
- CHECK ABS SENSOR SIGNAL (w/o VSC)

- CHECK VSC SENSOR SIGNAL (w/ VSC)
(See TEST MODE PROCEDURE )
