Keyless Entry System Inoperative

- Resynchronize all transmitters. See TRANSMITTER RESYNCHRONIZATION under PROGRAMMING - PROCEDURES. If door locks cycle while resynchronizing transmitters, go to next step. If door locks do not cycle while resynchronizing transmitter, go to step 3).
- Test system using RKE transmitters. If RKE system operates, system okay. Verify system operation. If RKE system does not operate, go to step 4).
- Check voltage of RKE transmitter batteries. If voltage is between 3-3.5 volts, go to step 5). If voltage is not between 3-3.5 volts, go to step 6).
- Operate door locks using door lock switches. If doors lock operate normally, go to step 7). If door locks do not operate normally, see POWER DOOR LOCKS article.
- Reprogram all transmitters. See TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING under PROGRAMMING - PROCEDURES. Test system using RKE transmitter. If RKE system operates normally, system okay. Verify system operation. If RKE system does not operate normally, go to step 8).
- Replace transmitter batteries. Resynchronize transmitter. See TRANSMITTER RESYNCHRONIZATION . If door locks cycle during resynchronization of transmitters, go to step 2). If door locks did not cycle during resynchronization of transmitters, go to step 8).
- Reprogram all transmitters. See TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING0 under PROGRAMMING - PROCEDURES. Using RKE transmitter, test system operation. If keyless entry system works properly, system okay. If keyless entry system does not work properly, go to step 9).
- Program known good transmitter. See TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING under PROGRAMMING - PROCEDURES. Using RKE transmitter, test system operation. If keyless entry system works properly, go to step 9). If keyless entry system does not work properly, go to step 10).
- Replace defective RKE transmitter. Verify system operation.
- Disconnect remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) Black 16-pin connector. Using test light, backprobe RCDLR connector Orange wire terminal and Black wire terminal. If test light illuminates, go to step 11). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 12).
- Check for poor connection at RCDLR. If okay, replace RCDLR. Verify system operation.
- Using test light, backprobe between ground and RCDLR connector Orange wire terminal. If test light illuminates, go to step 13). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 14).
- Repair poor connection or open in Black wire between RCDLR and ground. Verify system operation.
- Repair poor connection or open in Orange wire between RCDLR and ground. Verify system operation.
