- Using DRB, erase trouble codes. Using DRB, actuate A/C clutch relay. If A/C clutch relay is clicking, go to next step. If A/C clutch relay is not clicking, go to step 5).
- At this time, condition required to set trouble code is not present. A/C CLUTCH RELAY CIRCUIT trouble code sets if an open or short is detected in A/C clutch relay control circuit. Possible causes are: A/C clutch relay coil open or shorted, open in A/C clutch relay Gray wire, open or short in A/C clutch relay Dark Blue/Orange wire, or inoperative circuit driver in PCM. Go to next step.
- Inspect all related wiring and connectors and repair as necessary. Perform TEST VER-2Β . If no problems are found with wiring and connectors, go to next step.
- While still actuating A/C clutch relay, wiggle A/C clutch relay-to-PCM wiring harness. If relay stops clicking while wiggling wiring harness, repair wiring and connectors as necessary. Perform TEST VER-2. If relay does not stop clicking while wiggling wiring harness, see INACTIVE TROUBLE CODE CONDITIONΒ . Perform TEST VER-2.
- Disconnect A/C clutch relay.
- With DRB still actuating A/C clutch relay, put DRB in voltmeter mode. Using DRB, check voltage on A/C clutch relay connector Light Green wire. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Dark Blue/White wire. Perform TEST VER-2. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between A/C clutch relay terminals. See Fig 1 . If resistance is more than 100 ohms, replace A/C clutch relay. If resistance is less than 100 ohms, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM connector. Put DRB in ohmmeter mode. Using DRB, check resistance of A/C clutch relay connector Dark Blue/Orange wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Dark Blue/Orange wire. Perform TEST VER-2. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of Dark Blue/Orange wire between A/C clutch relay connector and PCM connector terminal No. 34. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Dark Blue/Orange wire. Perform TEST VER-2. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace PCM. Perform TEST VER-2.
- Remove radiator fan relay. On AS body, remove low speed radiator fan relay. On all vehicles, using DRB, check voltage on relay connector Gray wire. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Gray wire. Perform TEST VER-2Β . If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Substitute radiator fan relay for a known good relay. On all vehicles, using DRB, actuate A/C clutch relay. Put DRB in voltmeter mode.
- Using DRB, check voltage on radiator fan relay connector Light Green wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace original relay. Perform TEST VER-2. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Light Green wire. Perform TEST VER-2.
