NOTE:
If circuit is shorted to ground, fuse will blow. Check fuse before performing diagnostics.
- Perform BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SYSTEM TESTS. Go to next step.
- If other Automatic Lighting Control (ALC) DTCs exist, repair DTCs before continuing with diagnosis. If no other ALC DTCs are present, go to next step.
- Turn headlight switch to ON position with low beams on. If both low beams come on, go to next step. If both low beams do not come on, go to step 7 .
- Connect scan tool and read LOW BEAM/DRL FEEDBACK. If BCM input is LOW BEAM ON, go to next step. If BCM input is not LOW BEAM ON, go to step 8 .
- Turn headlights to on with high beams on. If both high beams come on, go to next step. If both high beams do not come on, go to step 7 .
- Read HIGH BEAM FEEDBACK on scan tool. If BCM input is HIGH BEAM ON, go to next step. If BCM input is not HIGH BEAM ON, go to step 8 .
- Repair headlight circuit. See appropriate wiring diagram in HEADLIGHT SYSTEMS & DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS. After repairs, go to step 13 .
- Turn headlight switch off. Disconnect BCM connector C2. Using DVOM, measure voltage between BCM connector C2 terminal B4 (Dark Blue wire) and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If battery voltage is indicated, go to step 12 . If battery voltage is not indicated, go to next step.
- Repair open in Dark Blue wire between BCM and underhood fuse block. After repairs, go to step 13 .
- Turn headlight switch off. Disconnect BCM connector C2. Using DVOM, measure voltage between BCM connector C2 terminal A5 (Pink wire) and ground. If battery voltage is indicated, go to step 12 . If battery voltage is not indicated, go to next step.
- Repair open in Pink wire between BCM and underhood fuse block. After repairs, go to step 13 .
