Blower Unit Removal/Installation [L3 With TC]

2008 Mazda 6 s Sport, 4D Hatchback, StandardSECTION Blower Unit Removal/Installation [L3 With TC]

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
    2. Console (See CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
    3. Meter hood (See METER HOOD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
    4. Instrument cluster (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
    5. Column cover (See COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
    6. Lower panel (See LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
    7. Steering shaft (See STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. )
    8. A-pillar trim (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
    9. Front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
    10. Front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
    11. Side panel (See SIDE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
  3. Remove the dashboard. (See DASHBOARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
  4. Remove the blower motor. (See BLOWER MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
  5. Remove the power MOSFET. (See POWER METAL OXIDE SEMICONDUCTOR FIELD EFFECT TRANSISTOR (POWER MOSFET) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 WITH TC] ).
  6. Remove the blower unit nuts.
  7. Remove the screw securing the duct (2) to the A/C unit, by inserting a phillips screwdriver into the hole made after removing the blower motor.
  8. Remove the screw securing the duct (2) to the A/C unit.
  9. Remove the duct (2).

  10. Remove the blower unit.
  11. Temporary install the blower unit.
  12. Install in the duct (2).
  13. Install the two outer screws, securing the duct (2) to the A/C unit.

  14. Install the screw on the end of the phillips screwdriver with the packing tape.
    CAUTION:
    • If the packing tape remains in the duct (2), it may become a source of noise. Wind up the packing tape to prevent pinching when tightening the screw.
  15. Install the duct (2) to the A/C unit by inserting a phillips screwdriver, with the screw, into the hole made after removing the blower motor.

  16. Pull out the phillips screwdriver together with the packing tape.
  17. Install the blower unit nuts.
  18. Install the power MOSFET. (See POWER METAL OXIDE SEMICONDUCTOR FIELD EFFECT TRANSISTOR (POWER MOSFET) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 WITH TC] )
  19. Install the blower motor. (See BLOWER MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
  20. Install the dashboard. (See DASHBOARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
  21. Connect the negative battery cable.
