- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the following parts:
- Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Console (See CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Meter hood (See METER HOOD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Instrument cluster (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Column cover (See COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Lower panel (See LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Steering shaft (See STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION. )
- A-pillar trim (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Side panel (See SIDE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Remove the dashboard. (See DASHBOARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Remove the blower motor. (See BLOWER MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Remove the power MOSFET. (See POWER METAL OXIDE SEMICONDUCTOR FIELD EFFECT TRANSISTOR (POWER MOSFET) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 WITH TC] ).
- Remove the blower unit nuts.
- Remove the screw securing the duct (2) to the A/C unit, by inserting a phillips screwdriver into the hole made after removing the blower motor.
- Remove the screw securing the duct (2) to the A/C unit.
- Remove the duct (2).
- Remove the blower unit.
- Temporary install the blower unit.
- Install in the duct (2).
- Install the two outer screws, securing the duct (2) to the A/C unit.
- Install the screw on the end of the phillips screwdriver with the packing tape.CAUTION:
- If the packing tape remains in the duct (2), it may become a source of noise. Wind up the packing tape to prevent pinching when tightening the screw.
- Install the duct (2) to the A/C unit by inserting a phillips screwdriver, with the screw, into the hole made after removing the blower motor.
- Pull out the phillips screwdriver together with the packing tape.
- Install the blower unit nuts.
- Install the power MOSFET. (See POWER METAL OXIDE SEMICONDUCTOR FIELD EFFECT TRANSISTOR (POWER MOSFET) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 WITH TC] )
- Install the blower motor. (See BLOWER MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Install the dashboard. (See DASHBOARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Connect the negative battery cable.
