Power Rack & Pinion: Installation
1998 Lexus SC 300SECTION Installation
- Center rack assembly. If pressure or return tubes have been removed, reinstall using new gaskets before installing rack assembly. Tighten union bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Ensure steering wheel and air bag cable reel cable are centered.
- Align reference marks. Connect rack assembly to steering column universal joint. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Bleed system. See HYDRAULIC SYSTEM BLEEDING under LUBRICATION. Adjust toe-in. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES article in WHEEL ALIGNMENT section.
