Door Window Glass: Installation
2002 Jaguar XK8 2D CoupeSECTION Installation
- Lubricate glass lower channel and fit nylon fixings ensuring that looped ends of clips face outwards.
- Position glass in door aperture and fit front guide onto guide runner.
- Check that the three buffers are fitted to outer waist reinforcer.
- Fit and align glass front guide retaining bracket and tighten securing screw.
- Fit glass regulator assembly onto nylon fixings and fit and fully seat retaining clips.
- Connect the battery and fit the battery cover. Refer to BATTERY RECONNECTION PROCEDURE .
- Motor glass to 25mm from fully raised position
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECTION PROCEDURE .
- Fit rear guide runner to glass guide.
- Fit and tighten rear guide runner adjuster securing screws,
- Fit and tighten rear guide runner upper securing screw ensuring that a clearance of 9mm is maintained between glass and outer waist rail flange inner face.
- Connect the battery and fit the battery cover. Refer to BATTERY RECONNECTION PROCEDURE .
- Motor glass to fully lowered position.
- Disconnect and remove door switchpack.
- Fit door outer waist rail moulding. Refer to DOOR WINDOW MOULDING .
- Fit door inner waist seal. Refer to DOOR WINDOW GLASS WEATHERSTRIPΒ .
- Adjust door glass as required. Refer to DOOR WINDOW GLASS ADJUSTMENTΒ
- Fit speaker.
- Fit secondary and main water shedders. Refer to EXTERIOR DRIVER DOOR HANDLE and/or EXTERIOR PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE .
- Fit door casing. Refer to DOOR TRIM PANEL .
