Installation Procedure
2006 Isuzu Ascender S, 5.3 M, 4WDSECTION Installation Procedure

- Support the fuel tank.
- Connect the fuel sender electrical connector (1).
- Connect the EVAP vent valve electrical connector (2).
- Connect the fuel pressure sensor electrical connector (8).
- Install the fuel tank straps.
- Install the fuel tank strap attaching bolts and tighten to 32 N.m (24 lb ft).
- Remove the caps from the fuel and EVAP pipes.
- Connect the fuel feed pipe (1) and the EVAP pipe (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting ServiceΒ .
- Connect the fuel fill pipe to the fuel tank. Tighten the fuel fill hose clamp to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).
- Connect the fuel filler pipe recirculation hose to the fuel tank. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting ServiceΒ .
- Connect the EVAP purge pipe. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting ServiceΒ .
- Connect the EVAP canister solenoid pipe. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting ServiceΒ .
- Connect the EVAP canister fresh air pipe. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting ServiceΒ .
- Lower the vehicle.
- Refill the fuel tank.
- Install the fuel filler cap.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Use the following procedure in order to inspect for leaks:
- Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF for 10 seconds.
- Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
- Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
- Inspect for fuel leaks.
- Install the fuel tank shield, if equipped. Refer to Fuel Tank Shield Replacement .
- Install the frame brace. Refer to Frame Brace Replacement .
- Lower the vehicle.
