Idle Speed

1985 Isuzu Trooper II 1.9 A, MSG5LSECTION Idle Speed
  1. Set parking brake and block drive wheels. Place transmission in Neutral. Be sure engine is at operating temperature, choke open, A/C off (if equipped) and air cleaner installed.
  2. Disconnect and plug distributor vacuum hose, canister purge line and EGR control hose. Disable idle compensator vacuum line by bending rubber hose.
  3. Turn throttle (idle) adjusting screw until specified idle RPM is reached. If equipped with A/C, turn to maximum cooling and high blower.
  4. Open throttle about one-third and let it close to allow speed-up solenoid to reach full travel. Turn solenoid speed screw to reach 850-950 RPM.
