DTC 1409: Audio Error 9 (XM Error)
- Check the vehicle battery condition first (see BATTERY TEST ).
- This DTC sets when an XM antenna malfunction is detected, or if there is a problem with the XM circuit.
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the general troubleshooting information (see GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION -('10 MODEL) ).
- Clear the hard error code (see HOW TO CLEAR ERROR HISTORY ).
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).
- Check for the hard error code (see
HOW DO I FIND THE LOCAL ADDRESS OF A BUSINESS THAT IS PART OF A NATIONAL CHAIN (FOR EXAMPLE, STARBUCKS)? ).
Is DTC 1409 indicated at the time you cycled the vehicle?
YES -Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the AM/FM/XM antenna, if they are OK, do the diagnosis for the AM/FM/XM antenna in the audio system.
NO -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

When to See a Mechanic
