- Clean all valve springs in a suitable solvent.
- Inspect valve springs for rust, pitting, distortion and cracks. If any of these conditions exist, install new valve springs.
- Using a valve spring tester, measure the valve spring free length. For additional information, refer to SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
- Apply the appropriate installed test load to each spring and determine whether the test length is achieved. Repeat for valve open load. For additional information, refer to SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
