NOTE:
This test only applies to vehicle equipped with electronic instrument clusters.
- Ensure cruise control cable is attached. If cruise control cable is attached, go to next step. If cruise control cable is not attached, attach cruise control cable and retest system.
- Disconnect cruise control cable from throttle linkage. Check slack in cruise control cable. If slack is approximately 0.12" (3 mm), go to next step. If slack is not approximately 0.12" (3 mm), adjust cruise control cable. See CRUISE CONTROL CABLEΒ under ADJUSTMENTS.
- Inspect cruise control cable for sticking and binding. If cruise control cable is okay, replace cruise control servo/actuator. If cruise control cable is not okay, replace cruise control cable.
