The Integrated Center Stack (ICS) Module is located in the bezel that surrounds the radio and is serviced as an assembly with the radio bezel. The ICS module is available in two configurations, one for the Manual Temperature Control (MTC) (2) single zone Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system with integrated radio controls, and one for the Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) (1) HVAC system equipped vehicles.

The ICS module may include the following switches:

  • BACK Switch
  • Radio Control Knobs
  • HVAC Controls
  • Hazard Warning Switch
  • SCREEN OFF Switch

The ICS module housing and the push buttons are constructed of molded plastic. Each push button has a smooth finish and is clearly identified with the appropriate text and International Control and Display Symbol icons. Refer to INTERNATIONAL VEHICLE CONTROL AND DISPLAY SYMBOLS, DESCRIPTION . Several of the push buttons feature Light Emitting Diode (LED) units to give the vehicle operator an indication when the function of that button is currently active. Only the hazard warning switch push button latches. The remaining switches feature momentary operation. The back of the ICS module housing has an integral connector receptacle containing terminals that connect the ICS module to the vehicle electrical system and Controller Area Network (CAN) data bus through a dedicated take out and connector of the instrument panel wire harness.

For additional information about the HVAC controls in the ICS module. Refer to CONTROL, A/C AND HEATER, DESCRIPTION .

Panel lamps dimmer controlled illumination lamps, integral to the circuit board within the ICS module, provide back lighting for visibility at night, but these lamps are not serviceable apart from the ICS module. The individual buttons and rotary switches cannot be repaired and are not serviced individually. If any component within the ICS module is ineffective or damaged, the entire ICS module and instrument panel bezel will need to be replaced. Refer to MODULE, INTEGRATED CENTER STACK (ICSM), REMOVAL .
