Cover(S), Engine Timing: Removal

2023 Dodge and Ram Durango GT, RWDSECTION Removal

  1. Remove the supercharger. Refer to SUPERCHARGER, REMOVALΒ .
  2. Remove the supercharger belt tensioner. Refer to TENSIONER, DRIVE BELT, REMOVALΒ .
  3. Remove the water pump. Refer to PUMP, WATER, REMOVAL .

  4. Disconnect the camshaft position sensor wire harness connector (1).
  5. Remove A/C compressor from the engine timing chain cover and position aside. Refer to COMPRESSOR, A/C, REMOVAL .
  6. Remove the upper idler pulley or power steering pump bolts, depending on how equipped, and position aside.
  7. Remove the generator from the engine timing chain cover and position aside. Refer to GENERATOR, REMOVAL .
  8. Remove the vibration damper. Refer to DAMPER, VIBRATION, REMOVALΒ  .

  9. Remove the five front oil pan to timing cover bolts (1).

  10. Remove the right side coolant tube retaining bolt from the rear of the timing cover (1).

  11. Remove the engine timing cover retaining bolts (2) and remove the engine timing cover (1).
