CAUTION:
This is a Zero-Tolerance engine. Failure to properly align the timing chain to the timing gears will cause severe engine damage. It is imperative that the Timing Marks shown in the subsequent steps be properly aligned during assembly.

- Install the timing chain tensioner. Tighten the bolts (1) to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
- Remove the Tensioner Pin (special tool #8514A, Pins, Tensioner) (2).
- Remove the zip tie from the timing chain guide.
- Install the timing cover. Refer to COVER(S), ENGINE TIMING, INSTALLATIONΒ .
- Remove the dial indicator from cylinder No. 1 and install the spark plugs. Refer to SPARK PLUG, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Start the engine and inspect for leaks.
