- Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
- Remove the trim panel (1) from the liftgate (4) Refer to PANEL, TRIM, REMOVAL .
- Remove exterior release cable (2) at the handle.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors (3, 5) at the latch (4).
- Remove the three screws (3) that secure the latch (2) to the liftgate (1).
- Remove the liftgate latch (2) from the vehicle.
