DECKLID/Hatch/Liftgate/Tailgate/Swing Gate: Latch: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
  2. Remove the trim panel (1) from the liftgate (4) Refer to PANEL, TRIM, REMOVALΒ .

  3. Remove exterior release cable (2) at the handle.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connectors (3, 5) at the latch (4).

  5. Remove the three screws (3) that secure the latch (2) to the liftgate (1).
  6. Remove the liftgate latch (2) from the vehicle.
