NOTE:

BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A
after each repair.
- Disconnect radio antenna connector. Inspect antenna connections and repair as necessary. If antenna connections are okay, go to next step.
- Disconnect radio Gray connector. Inspect radio connector and repair as necessary. If radio connector is okay, go to next step.
- Disconnect amplifier 14-pin connector C1. Inspect amplifier connector and repair as necessary. If amplifier connector is okay, go to next step.
- Turn radio on. Gain access to radio Black connector. Do not disconnect connector. Using an external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and backprobe radio Black connector terminal No. 2 (Brown/Yellow wire). If voltage is about 5.5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not about 5.5 volts, replace radio.
- Gain access to amplifier 14-pin connector C1. Do not disconnect connector. Measure voltage between ground and backprobe amplifier 14-pin connector C1 terminal No. 2 (Violet wire on Dakota or Red/Black wire on Durango). If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Violet or Red/Black wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Measure voltage between amplifier 14-pin connector C1 terminal No. 2 (Violet wire on Dakota or Red/Black wire on Durango) and terminal No. 8 (Black/Light Green wire on Dakota or Black/Tan wire on Durango). If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Black/Light Green or Black/Tan wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Gain access to amplifier 10-pin connector C2. Measure voltage between amplifier 10-pin connector C2 terminal No. 4 (Dark Green/Red wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, system is functioning correctly. If voltage is 10 volts or less, go to next step.
- Measure voltage between ground and backprobe radio Black connector terminal No. 1 (Dark Green/Red wire). If voltage is about 10 volts, repair open Dark Green/Red wire. If voltage is not about 10 volts, replace radio.
