Rear Wheel Speed Sensor: Removal

1993 Chrysler LeBaron LandauSECTION Removal
  1. Raise vehicle. Remove wheel and tire assembly. Remove sensor assembly grommet from underbody. Pull harness through hole in underbody. Unplug connector from harness. See Figure . Remove sensor grommet screw from body hose bracket, forward of trailing arm bushing.
  2. Remove sensor assembly clip located on inboard side of trailing arm. Remove sensor wire fastener from rear brake hose bracket. Remove outboard sensor assembly retainer nut.
  3. Remove sensor head screw. Carefully remove sensor. If sensor is frozen, use a hammer and punch to lightly tap edge of sensor ear, rocking sensor from side to side until free. DO NOTΒ  use pliers.
CAUTION: Proper installation of wheel speed sensor cables is critical to continued operation of system. Ensure cables are installed in retainers. Failure to install cables in retainers may cause contact with moving parts and/or over-extension of cables, resulting in open circuit.
