Modulator Assembly: Installation

  1. Install modulator assembly in vehicle. See Fig 1 . Use protruding tab on assembly to locate and hold assembly in place. Ensure bracket is held by front mounting bolt. Install, but DO NOTΒ  tighten, modulator assembly bracket to fender shield bolt. Raise vehicle on hoist. Install modulator assembly bracket mounting bolt near junction block. Tighten both lower mounting bracket bolts to 21 ft. lbs. (28 N.m).
  2. Install 4 hydraulic brake tubes to modulator assembly, and tighten fittings to 12 ft. lbs. (16 N.m). Reconnect 10-pin modulator assembly connector. Lower vehicle, and install 2 master cylinder supply tubes to modulator assembly. Tighten modulator assembly and master cylinder fittings to 12 ft. lbs. (16 N.m). Tighten modulator-to-fender splash shield bolt to 21 ft. lbs. (28 N.m).
  3. Bleed brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEMΒ  . Install acid shield and battery tray. Install battery, and connect battery cables.
