Modulator Assembly: Installation

  1. Check 3 modulator assembly bushings and replace if necessary. See Fig 1 . Install modulator assembly on mounting bracket. Ensure bushings are properly aligned on mounting bracket and modulator assembly. Install, but DO NOTΒ  tighten, modulator assembly-to-bracket bolt. Raise vehicle on hoist. Install and tighten both lower mounting bracket bolts to 21 ft. lbs. (28 N.m).
  2. Install 6 hydraulic brake tubes to modulator assembly, and tighten fittings to 13 ft. lbs. (18 N.m). Reconnect 10-pin modulator assembly connector. Lower vehicle, and install 2 master cylinder supply tubes to modulator assembly. Tighten modulator assembly and master cylinder fittings to 12 ft. lbs. (16 N.m). Tighten modulator-to-bracket upper bolt to 21 ft. lbs. (28 N.m).
  3. Bleed brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEMΒ  . Install acid shield and battery tray. Install battery, and connect battery cables.
