Preliminary Procedure 
  1. Reposition the rear end spoiler. Refer to Rear End Spoiler Replacement .
  2. Remove the liftgate center applique. Refer to Liftgate Center Applique Replacement (Chevrolet) .
1 Liftgate Side Applique

Procedure

  1. Gently pull up on the bottom portion of the liftgate side applique and use a trim type release tool to release the bottom retainer.
    NOTE:

    Apply a suitable tape to the body side outer frame to protect the paint. Do not use the trim type release tool on the liftgate window surface.

  2. Release the next 2 retainers from the bottom to the top.
  3. Reposition the rear end spoiler by lifting up the end being serviced.
  4. Rotate the liftgate side applique to access and release the top retainer.
  5. Replace damaged retainers as needed.
