Preliminary Procedures

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Zone Identification Views .
  2. Remove the steering wheel SIR module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement .
  3. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) cluster bezel. Refer to Bezel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Cluster .
  4. Remove the steering column covers. Refer to Steering Wheel Shroud ReplacementΒ .
1 Steering Wheel Nut

Tighten:Β  40 N.m (30 lb ft)

2 Steering Wheel
Tip:Β  Use J 1859-AΒ  Steering Wheel Puller and J 42578Β  Steering Wheel Puller Legs to remove the steering wheel. See Special ToolsΒ .
