2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS, 4D Sedan, StandardSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the negative battery cable (2) to the conduit.

  3. Wrap tape around the positive/negative battery cable conduit (1).

  5. Through the left head lamp opening, install the negative battery cable ground terminal to the stud.
  6. Install the Left head lamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Replacement .
  7. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  8. Install the battery cable ground nut to the stud on the side rail and tighten to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  10. If equipped with RPO LAF perform the following, position the negative battery cable ground terminal (5) to the engine block.
    1. Position the engine harness ground (4) on top of the ground terminal and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
    2. Install the stud (2).
    3. Install the engine harness grounds (2) onto the stud.
    4. Install the engine harness ground nut (1) and tighten to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

  12. If equipped with RPO LAP with M86 perform the following, position the negative battery cable ground terminal (4) to the engine block.
    1. Install the stud (2) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
    2. Install the engine harness ground terminal (3) to the stud (2).
    3. Install the engine harness ground nut (1) and tighten to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

  14. If equipped with RPOs LAP with MN5 perform the following, install the negative battery cable ground terminal (2) to the stud (1).
    1. Install the engine harness ground terminal (3) to the stud (1).
    2. Install the engine harness ground nut (4) and tighten to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).
  15. Lower the vehicle.
  16. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and ConnectionΒ .
